We are glad to have purchased a plot at Usha Woods. It did not take us very long to make up our minds on the project.

As far as I, Salil was concerned, it was just what I was looking for and was ideally suited to design and setup my eco-friendly living project that was long pending.

We have started this blog to share our experiences at Usha Woods and our plans and ideas about eco friendly living options as we think about it.

16th August 2009 – Silver Oaks in the Wind

Silver oaks in the wind is the name we selected for our plot at UW. This is the corner plot, no. 39, the one with the wind wane fixed on a tall pole.

We have a lot of plans for Silver oaks which we will be sharing on this blog as we go about putting our plans to reality and setting up our place as per our desire.

We hope that some of these plans would be of use to other people as well.

Will update….

    Hi Salil,

I am amazed at the greenery. I need a place to get away when the city gets to me. Could you tell me how much a good plot cost you and how much do you think a decent bungalow could cost you to make? I thought these were ready bungalows but saw from your blog that they are plots.

    Regards,
    Sangeeta

    Thanx, yr quick responsence by your mr.dutta, Iv seen yr entire site,as my own idea is to fit old ship container’s [I am an ex-merchant navy captain] & hv seen this idea in China~on a 3 feet high base,then round port-holes,& doors,2 container’s are better than a caravan;off course need septic tank;
    u hv sent basic details-But what about water~is it bore/or well,Next electricity ?
as we do not want to wait for the wind to spin the wind-mill ?

    Hello Cpt. Chagla,

I hope there is some flodding this year around the rivers.

Using the containers is very practical as there are lots of used containers lying around and your idea of portholes etc. are very original.

Water: Yes there is a bore well at the site.

Suhas, Captain, Have you actually visited the site?
I suggest you or the person who is actually wanting to have such a ploty should visit the site and check out how it meets his/her expectations.

I can say that in monsoon, it is very grren and very beautiful.

    Regards,
    Salil.
